This year sees Mentor turn 25 and, to mark the occasion, we are undertaking 'Mission 25' - a challenge to raise more than £25,000 for charity. All proceeds from the 12 month endeavor will go to five great causes; Help for Heroes, Prostate Cancer UK, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, Children's Hospice Association Scotland, and Children in Need.
In order to reach our target, we will be donating 50p for every training day sold between April 2013 and March 2014. Furthermore, the Mentor sales team will be inviting customers to match this donation upon booking courses. Generous donors will simply have their donation added to their invoice.
Sponsored events
To boost our fundraising efforts, staff will be taking part in a variety of sponsored events throughout the year. Senior Account Manager, Claire Henshaw, kicked off Mission25 last month - by braving the clippers and raising over £650 with a sponsored head shave. Four more fearless females from Mentor are taking part in a skydive this June. Adele Coupe, Amy Alton, Charlotte Summerson and Norma Gartland will jump from 10,000ft to raise money for our worthy causes.
Mentor's main event, however, is scheduled to take place later in the year. In September, a dedicated team of Mentor instructors will attempt to travel from Land's End to John O'Groats - by fork lift truck! They will brave the elements, mountainous terrain, and terrifying speeds of up to 12mph(!) in order to travel the full length of the UK mainland - and, hopefully, raising plenty of support and donations along the way.
