One of the largest UK FTSE 100 publicly listed companies (DCC PLC) has chosen the city of Essen as their preferred base for the launch of their German fuel card operation. DCC group turnover for the year ending 31 March 2017 was c. €13.5 billion with profits of c. €380m. The German entity is the first step in Europe for DCC’s UK fuel card operation, Fuel Card Services Ltd (FCS) who are the driving force behind the investment. FCS UK employ over 350 people selling multiple branded fuel cards to over 60,000 UK business customers. FCS have successfully grown year on year and will implement a similar business model in Germany providing customers with great service and fuel savings.

The entity will trade under the name FCS Europe (The legal entity being FCS Tankkarten Lösungen GmBH) offering quality fuels throughout Germany through leading brands Esso and OMV that will additionally give access to the Shell and Routex networks (c. 6.000 fuel sites in total).

FCS Europe will be based on Limbecker Str in Essen city centre with capacity to employ up to 60 telesales and customer service operators.

FCS acknowledge and appreciate that the advice and support of Peter Schumacher and his team at EWG was instrumental throughout the whole process from initial market research to locate a suitable base  through to the opening of the new office.  Project leader Colm Phelan states that the team at EWG went “above and beyond expectations” in their practical advice and support to facilitate the establishment of the operation in Germany.
