Logistics company Geodis Calberson invest in 10 new double deck trailers

Geodis Calberson is planning to invest further in its vehicle and trailer fleet in the UK as part of its plans to grow the company in 2010.

In the last quarter of 2009, the French-owned company ordered 10 new double-deck trailers for its European daily delivery requirements in an investment programme approaching £250,000. The High Wycombe based operation also ordered five new DAF trucks.

Ray Cook Director of Traffic for Geodis Calberson revealed that an additional five double-deck trailers are being ordered for delivery in April/May of this year. Five new trucks will also be ordered for delivery in the third quarter of 2010.

Jamie Cuthbert Managing Director of Geodis Calberson commented: "We have an on-going replacement programme to renew our vehicle and trailer fleet each year and this year we will further invest in our replacement programme in line with our strategy to expand the business across all areas.

"We have been one of the few companies in the transport industry in the UK to continue to invest during the recession. Our order book for 2010 is looking very healthy after a good year in 2009 when all our company operations showed an improvement over the previous year.

"We are committed to having the very best equipment available to move our customers goods and our continuous investment programme replacing on average about 25 pr cent of our vehicle fleet every year ensures we portray the right image to our customers", he added.
