Latest X-Ray threat detection equipment deployed at East Midlands Airport

Totalpost Services Plc has delivered a state-of-the-art x-ray threat detection system to East Midlands Airport Handling Ltd (part of the HAE Group) to enable greater threat detection through enhanced freight screening.

Totalpost has supplied state-of-the-art security screening equipment to international cargo screening and handling company East Midlands Airport Handling Ltd which is based at East Midlands Airport.

Totalpost is the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor of the leading x-ray threat detection technology from USA based Astrophysics Inc.

Martin Edwards, Commercial Projects Manager at East Midlands Airport Handling says, "From order point to installation the service from Totalpost has been faultless, the whole process has been extremely efficient and has been carried out in a very professional manner."

We are very pleased with the performance of the new x-ray threat detection screening system from Totalpost. We have found the system easy to use, extremely efficient and the imagery produced by the Dual View is extremely clear."

David Hymers, Managing Director at Totalpost comments on the installation, "The installation at East Midlands Airport went very well and we are pleased to have assisted East Midlands Airport Handling in their growth."

The XIS-100DV has been designed specifically for the screening of non palletised goods such as parcels and freight and is used extensively in airports across the world. It utilises Dual View technology which uses two x-ray sources to generate two independent perspectives for better detection, companies that don't use Dual View have to screen every single piece of cargo twice which impacts on screening efficiency.

Where the application requires Dual View screening (to comply with the latest DfT and TSA regulations) of palletised air freight in sizes up to the maximum height of lower deck cargo then larger systems are available from Totalpost including the largest tunnel size of 1.8 x 1.8m and 320kv and above generator power.
