Good Energy, the UK's only 100% renewable electricity supplier, is pleased to be the first energy retailer this year to announce that it is reducing its standard electricity and gas tariffs by 7.5% from 31st January 2009.
For an average Good Energy dual fuel customer, this will amount to a saving of approximately £62 annually.
Juliet Davenport, CEO of Good Energy said: "Good Energy is committed to ensuring that its customers receive the best value possible for their renewable power supply. Good Energy is due to start paying less for its renewable power in 2009 and we want our customers to benefit from this."
Although the price of renewable energy is still affected by oil and gas price instability in the UK, Good Energy is working hard to minimise the cost for its customers. Increasing its direct relationships with over 500 independent renewable energy generators, as well as repowering its own wind farm in Delabole, Cornwall should help reduce the impact of future instability in the market.
As well as helping to provide economic benefits for customers, these initiatives are a crucial part of Good Energy's mission to tackle climate change by providing people with low carbon products and services, and supporting the growth of independent renewable generation in the UK.
