Geodis Calberson provides highly efficient groupage solution to Static Control Components Europe
Static Control Components Europe, the market leaders in the laser toner remanufacturing industry, set road transport and logistics provider Geodis Calberson a tough brief when it remodelled its distribution.
Static Control tasked Geodis Calberson with coming up with a distribution service covering the company's groupage activity across the UK, Europe and North Africa, that maximised efficiency and simplified communication during and after transit.
Geodis Calberson rose to the challenge, and now provides Static Control with a load optimising groupage solution which is one of the most time and cost-effective methods of cargo transportation available. And not only is the service good for Static Control's bottom line - it enhances the service received by Static Control's customers and improves Static Control's green credentials.
Static Control provides a wide range of toner cartridge products, components and support services to more than 9,000 individuals and businesses worldwide, offering customers a cheaper and more environmentally sustainable alternative to purchasing new toner cartridges.
Geodis Calberson's solution has led to major efficiencies for Static Control. The amount of time wasted chasing deliveries has been reduced, the amount of cash spent on express deliveries has decreased thanks to the reliability of the Geodis Calberson service, and fewer vehicles are used to make deliveries for Static Control which has clear cost and environmental benefits.
Static Control can view the location of all of its shipments - which are collected daily - in real time using Geodis Calberson's sophisticated track and trace web service. In addition, Static Control benefits from Geodis Calberson's proactive customer service team, which includes a dedicated Static Control contact, who monitors all deliveries and is able to react to issues as they arise.
Static Control also receives Geodis Calberson's industry-leading performance reporting. Geodis Calberson's performance is measured monthly against KPIs, with 98% of the average of 100 shipments every week being delivered on time.
Another advantage of the service is that Static Control can register its shipments and print bar-codes in-house, ensuring the accuracy of data input and labelling and reducing the time it takes Geodis Calberson to deliver the goods.
Stewart Bird, Chief Operating Officer for Static Control Europe, said: "Geodis Calberson's services have really added value to our business by dramatically increasing the efficiency of our supply chain.
"This has driven down costs, and has the added benefit of reducing the number of vehicles required to transport our products, which is good for the environment.
"On top of that, Geodis Calberson's proactive customer service enables us to deal with potential problems early and to develop a true partnership relationship with them. This enables us in turn to provide our customers with a better service."
Nick Streatfield, of Geodis Calberson, said: "The strength of our offering means that we can add real value to businesses such as Static Control.
