FTA's popular seminars to return to Multimodal 2014

The Freight Transport Association will once again be teaming up with Multimodal 2014 to hold a series of seminars, tutorials and master classes on supply chain best practice. Panels of experts will help tackle supply chain issues, keeping visitors up-to-date with the latest regulations and helping them find new ways to work more efficiently and compliantly.

Multimodal, now in its seventh year, is the UK and Ireland's leading freight transport and logistics exhibition, and FTA will be taking part in a series of panel discussions and masterclasses on Wednesday 30 April - the second day of the show.

Subjects to be covered include moving freight by water, what needs to change to get more freight on rail, portcentric logistics solutions, correct packing and accurate weighing of containers, and modern logistics contracts. Speakers from the Co-operative, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Network Rail, B&Q Kingfisher (UK), PD Ports, DP World, Peel Ports, International Cargo Handling Co-ordination Association (ICHCA), International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) and solicitors Holman Fenwick William are amongst the leading names taking part, along with FTA experts.

Chris Welsh, FTA's Director of Global and European Policy, said:

"FTA's series of well attended and topical seminars are for all engaged international supply chain operations, but will be particularly pertinent for shippers looking for new modal options and to keep up-to-date with the latest need to know regulatory developments."

Visitors are also welcome to the FTA stand at Multimodal - number 535 in Hall 8 - between 29 April and 1 May. This year FTA celebrates its 125 year anniversary and will be at the show to discuss all aspects of supporting national, European and global supply chains.
