The FLTA Awards for Excellence has taken the hotly-contested Best Event of the Year title at the Trade Association Forum’s Best Practice Awards.

It’s the second time the FLTA has won a Best Practice Award in just four years, having previously won Best Conference for the FLTA Safety Conference in 2015.

Bringing together more than 400 of the fork lift truck industry’s leading figures, the FLTA Awards for Excellence, which is now in its 24th year, celebrates materials handling’s best products, services, people and teams.

After undertaking a major review of the event, including focus groups of Members and Sponsors, the FLTA identified several ways to enhance the event’s value… without compromising on its quality or integrity.

In the face of online voting scandals, such as Boaty McBoatface, the FLTA appointed an expert jury to choose the winners in the event – ensuring that the best products, services, people and teams win.

Event organisers also worked in close partnership with sponsors including Combilift and Toyota Material Handling to ensure the best return on investment for the Awards’ backers.

Peter Harvey, FTLA Chief Executive said: “We are thrilled to win a second TAF Best Practice Award. As ever, we were up against some very impressive entries.

“It’s important that industry leaders are recognised and celebrated for their forward-thinking work. The TAF Awards offers the opportunity for lift truck managers to come together and hear what great things are happening in the industry today.

“We’re glad the TAF thinks so too.”

The next FLTA’s Awards for Excellence will take place on Saturday 30th March 2019 at the International Centre, Telford.
