Durite, a UK leader in transport safety, lighting and auto electrical parts for commercial vehicles, will showcase two major product innovations at the FORS Annual Conference 2025, taking place on 23 October at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.

The company is set to launch its new smart AI low bridge detection system and a groundbreaking warning lamp featuring HINVII™ technology — both designed to enhance safety and reduce risks across the transport sector.

Every year, around 1,800 bridge strikes occur in the UK, causing an estimated £23 million in taxpayer costs as well as delays, disruptions and potential liabilities for fleet operators and drivers. Durite’s new system aims to reduce such incidents by using AI-powered cameras to detect and warn drivers of low bridges up to 200 metres in advance, while also interpreting height restriction signage.

The technology incorporates high-accuracy 10Hz GPS linked with the UK low bridge database to provide precise alerts. By factoring in trailer and cargo heights, the system delivers tailored warnings via Durite’s connected R-Watch display, allowing drivers time to divert safely. The solution integrates fully with the company’s existing range of vehicle safety camera equipment.

Durite will also unveil the HINVII™ warning lamp, which combines traditional amber LED strobing with high-intensity non-visible intelligent illumination. This enables enhanced visibility of hi-vis clothing, signs, cones and machinery in poor weather or low light without creating distracting glare.

The lamp offers multi-programmable flash patterns, operates on 12/24V systems, and is built to IP67/IP69K standards for reliability in harsh environments such as roadside works, construction sites and industrial settings.

Themed Future Focus: Equipping Fleets for Tomorrow, this year’s FORS Conference is expected to attract around 500 road transport professionals. Sessions will cover fleet safety innovations, compliance updates and operational efficiency, alongside exhibits from technology providers.

Durite’s UK Sales Manager, John Nobbs, said: “The theme of this year’s FORS conference, 'Future Focus', perfectly reflects our mission to innovate for safety. Our new AI low bridge detection system and HINVII™ warning lamp are good examples of how we are equipping road transporters and vehicle operators across multiple industries with smarter, safer technology.”

The company will be co-exhibiting on Stand 29 with Fleet Sense, an independent transport consultancy with more than 25 years’ experience. Fleet Sense works with industry leaders including Durite, Webfleet Solutions, Eurora and FleetCheck.

“Working alongside Fleet Sense further allows us to offer operators expert consultancy and tailored guidance to optimise fleet safety, improve efficiency, reduce risks and enhance compliance,” added Nobbs.
