DEVELON, formerly Doosan Construction Equipment, has launched the new DX270WMH-7 wheeled material handler, designed to deliver “next level performance” across some of the toughest material handling applications.
Powered by DEVELON’s latest generation six-cylinder, turbocharged DL06V water-cooled diesel engine, the DX270WMH-7 produces an output (SAE J1995) of 141 kW (189 HP) at 1900 RPM.
The new machine features a redesigned undercarriage, boom, arm, elevating cab and counterweight, making it suitable for demanding tasks such as scrap metal, solid waste, recycling, demolition and timber handling.
Its heavy-duty undercarriage, with wide axles and longer dimensions, provides enhanced stability, while a new hydraulic cab riser offers operators a 2603 mm elevation range and faster lifting speed, giving improved visibility over the work area and attachment.
Inside, the DX270WMH-7 benefits from DEVELON’s latest DXW-7 cab design, including a comfortable interior, ergonomic layout, an 8-inch gauge panel and advanced smart controls. The reinforced elevating cab structure ensures smoother operation and protects vital components such as hoses and greasing lines, while two emergency safety valves enable cab descent from both inside and outside the cab.
The DX270WMH-7 delivers greater reach and lifting capacity without compromising on overall dimensions. The machine is fitted with a straight arm as standard, while gooseneck and long gooseneck arms are available as options.
The straight arm configuration comes with bucket linkage and a standard coupling for sorting grapples, while gooseneck arms provide a cost-effective solution for suspended attachments. Arms and booms have been purpose-designed for material handling, prioritising durability and stability.
For ease of use, the handler is equipped with ergonomic joysticks and a steering wheel, as well as two-way auxiliary and rotate circuit hydraulics. Auxiliary attachments can be controlled via joystick buttons or an optional foot pedal.
The DX270WMH-7 incorporates DEVELON’s Smart Power Control (SPC) system, which automatically adjusts engine RPMs through variable speed and pump torque control, optimising efficiency while maintaining productivity.
Engineered for waste and recycling operations, the machine’s robust undercarriage and stabilisers deliver balance and durability even in debris-heavy environments. A reversing fan comes as standard, keeping the cooling system clear of dust and debris to reduce downtime and maintenance needs.
Safety is further enhanced with DEVELON’s virtual wall system, which allows operators to set customised operating boundaries. This prevents accidental contact with nearby obstacles or ceilings indoors and reduces the risk of collisions between the attachment, cab and surroundings.
