Canute expands its medical services division with move to a new facility in Wokingham

The Canute Group, one of the country's largest privately owned logistics providers, has expanded its medical services division with a move to a larger facility in Wokingham, Berkshire.

Canute International Medical Services (CIMS), which was set up in 2005, has now moved into a 38,000 square foot depot which had been purpose built for the previous occupants and will now provide first class accommodation to develop their expanding operation.

CIMS provides turnkey solutions to the Diagnostic Imaging industry, offering a range of specialist services including transportation, engineering, warehousing, remarketing and installation of diagnostic medical equipment.

The division also specialises in the building and refurbishment of imaging suites using traditional and modular methods. Their end to end service includes the installation of new equipment by their engineering team and the de-installation of surplus equipment, which is then sold by CIMS or disposed of in line with WEEE regulations.

The new facility will give CIMS 20 per cent more space than their previous facility, and features state-of-the-art warehousing, which will enable them to cater to a wider client base from across the NHS and private healthcare sectors.

Guy Pomroy, Director at CIMS, explained: "Canute International Medical Services now has a much improved location which caters for the growing needs of our customers throughout the UK, Europe, North America, Asia and the rest of the world."

"This investment has ensured that we now have the space and facilities needed to expand on our current offering and establishes the Wokingham depot as a premier provider of medical services."

CIMS also holds monthly auctions of surplus and second life medical equipment for purchase by medical equipment providers across the world, including those operating in emerging markets.
