Bill Riddle and New Earth Solutions Top 50 Low Carbon Pioneers Survey

New Earth Solutions Ltd, in recognition of its pioneering waste management technology has been rewarded with a spot in CNBC European Business magazine's list of 'Top 50 Low Carbon Pioneers'. The list, which is roughly divided into two halves, including larger corporations in the first and smaller mid size entrepreneurial companies in the second, was compiled between June and December in 2006.

Ranking number 49 in the survey, Bill Riddle, Chairman of New Earth Solutions, is commended for his track record as an entrepreneur, and New Earth being the only entrant from the waste management sector, is endorsed as an 'innovative waste recycling and composting plant', while James Murdoch of British Sky Broadcasting Group is positioned in the top slot at number one.

According to official methodology, as outlined on the magazine website www.cnbceb.com, the final list was designed to give maximum exposure to companies that have taken a 'courageous' or 'ground-breaking' stance on climate change within the last ten years, and to give recognition to enterprise which has 'raced to prominence on the basis of a low-carbon entrepreneurial opportunity'.

The Carbon Neutral Company's definition of excellence was also utilised as a basis for selection, and served to reinforce key values such as the "integration of climate change policy entailing an extensive discussion of climate change impacts, concrete examples of efforts to mitigate those impacts, and an assessment of the company's performance in relation to industry performance, national and international efforts to tackle climate change".

Comments Bill Riddle, Chairman at New Earth Solutions: "New Earth Solutions recognizes the importance of reducing carbon footprint and helping local authorities effectively meet waste strategy and landfill diversion targets on time. Low carbon objectives are deeply embedded in our business objectives and strategy, and in the design and build of our own composting and waste recycling facilities, and we are thrilled to be included in this highly prestigious and competitive list".
