Automotive logistics leaders from across the world will convene in Switzerland next month to debate some of the issues dominating the industry agenda, as the Automotive Logistics Europe conference returns to Montreux from 4 - 6 March. The event, widely regarded as the automotive industry's most important supply chain conference, will once again be held at the exclusive Montreux Palace, one of Switzerland's most prestigious venues.
Automotive Logistics Europe is renowned for facilitating active discussion amongst leading players in the field. Now in its sixth year, the conference brings together vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and service providers to discuss the goals and needs of the automotive industry, providing professionals across all disciplines with a global perspective on the automotive logistics arena.
One of the key themes of this year's conference will be that of collaboration between all elements of the automotive supply chain and how vehicle manufacturers and tier one suppliers can reap the benefits of closer working relationships to deliver innovative solutions to a global marketplace. The event will include presentations from those at the very centre of the industry, including a rare chance to see representatives from major OEMs like GM, Ford and BMW participating in a question and answer forum.
The conference is supported by some of the most respected names in the logistics industry, including premier sponsor Gefco, one of the world's leading automotive logistics operators, as well as gold sponsors Panalpina, CEVA and i2.
Jean-Pierre Potel, executive vice-president, GEFCO, said: "Automotive Logistics Europe 2008 is the most important event in the calendar for professionals in the field. For those passionate about the subject of automotive logistics, it offers the opportunity to renew acquaintances, forge new business relationships and promote collaboration throughout the supply chain."
The event is the perfect platform for automotive logistics executives to debate the future direction of the industry. Forums allow attendees direct access to top-level speakers, panellists and decision-makers from some of the sector's leading organisations. The conference is seen as a key event to attend as a way of keeping up to date on events in the industry while anticipating the trends that will affect the marketplace in the future.
Other issues to be debated will include strategies for sourcing in low-cost countries, case studies for best-in-class assembly line logistics, managing transport bottlenecks and the effect of recent environmental legislation on the logistics industry.
John Pattullo, CEO of gold sponsors, CEVA noted: "Automotive Logistics Europe is a top-level meeting place for all the major players and features speaker presentations from some of the industry's leading figures and a host of high-level networking opportunities. We are delighted to be part of the biggest automotive logistics conference in Europe and look forward to continuing to support it in the future."
