Zetes barcodes and voice solutions improves warehouse stock accuracy for Regatta Outdoorwear

Solution includes Motorola hand-held terminals, Cisco RF infrastructure and Zebra mobile printers implemented and supported by Zetes

Benefits include improved stock accuracy and shelf availability through real-time stock reporting from any warehouse, the elimination of annual stock counts and more accurate picking.

Regatta, one of the UK's leading outdoor brands, has invested in a wireless warehouse and mobile hardware solution from Zetes, the identification and data capture specialist, to improve efficiency across the company's 4 distribution centres.

Regatta, which also owns the Craghoppers, Hawkshead and Dare 2B brands, exports products to Europe and is currently branching out into the North American market, implemented a wireless (RF) infrastructure and new hardware devices from Motorola and Zebra to enable the company to improve picking accuracy and efficiency. Underlying the company's investment is the need to support its increasingly multi-channel business model with improved customer service and real time stock information.

Since implementing its new system, Regatta has seen the immediate benefit of stock counting times being 50% lower. In addition, stock accuracy levels are greater, which has improved stock utilization and availability levels. Regatta has also seen an improvement to shrinkage levels as a result of having access to real time information, because problems can be investigated more quickly.

Mike Balaban, Group Inventory Manager at Regatta says, "We selected Zetes as our wireless solution provider for this project because we intend to further enhance our supply chain technology and regard the company as a strategic partner able to help us develop IT capabilities in line with business goals. In addition, the Zetes Group has a very good reputation for its technical skills and support capability."

"Andrew Southgate, Sales Director for Zetes says, "As the Regatta Group increases the scale of its e-commerce business, stock availability and picking optimisation will become more critical. Customers expect to receive the right goods first time, and to find the items they want available in stock at retail outlets, which means investment is required to improve stock management processes and the quality of inventory information."

Zetes has supplied and implemented a Cisco wireless network and switches, 72 Motorola MC9090 hand held terminals and Zebra QL420 mobile printers. Zetes is also responsible for ongoing hardware support.
