Regatta, one of the UK's leading outdoor brands, has invested in a wireless warehouse and mobile hardware solution from Zetes, the identification and data capture specialist, to improve efficiency across the company's 4 distribution centres.
Regatta, which also owns the Craghoppers, Hawkshead and Dare 2B brands, exports products to Europe and is currently branching out into the North American market, implemented a wireless (RF) infrastructure and new hardware devices from Motorola and Zebra to enable the company to improve picking accuracy and efficiency. Underlying the company's investment is the need to support its increasingly multi-channel business model with improved customer service and real time stock information.
Since implementing its new system, Regatta has seen the immediate benefit of stock counting times being 50% lower. In addition, stock accuracy levels are greater, which has improved stock utilization and availability levels. Regatta has also seen an improvement to shrinkage levels as a result of having access to real time information, because problems can be investigated more quickly.

Zetes has supplied and implemented a Cisco wireless network and switches, 72 Motorola MC9090 hand held terminals and Zebra QL420 mobile printers. Zetes is also responsible for ongoing hardware support.
