German-owned haulage giant Willi Betz has taken delivery of 50 Schmitz Cargobull S.CS Freepost curtainsider trailers. The trailers will operate out of Willi Betz's Derbyshire facility and will be used to transport automotive components on behalf of one of the company's blue chip accounts.
The Freepost curtainsiders, which have been built at Schmitz Cargobull's factory at Harelaw, County Durham, using Schmitz Cargobull patented bolted and galvanized manufacturing technique, are designed to make loading and unloading easier, quicker and safer. With no pillars to locate, the Freepost trailers offer clear side access along the full length of the trailer.
Willi Betz has facilities throughout Europe and the Middle East and operates a central purchasing policy across the Group. It is the company's policy to always specify Schmitz Cargobull products when additions to the trailer fleet are needed, as Simon Lings, the company's UK automotive business manager, explains: "We are a multi-national operation and it is our German parent company's policy to reduce the number of suppliers it deals with. Our group has operated Schmitz Cargobull trailers for several years now and we are more than happy to use them in the UK – particularly as the trailers are UK-built."
