Waste management industry votes with its feet

The organisers of RWM in partnership with CIWM have hailed the new joint show as a great success, bringing more exhibitors and visitors together under one roof than ever before.

A packed NEC has seen a diverse range of top industry speakers, cutting edge products and services, and unrivalled networking opportunities, following the merger of the RWM and Futuresource events.

Steve Lee, chief executive of the CIWM said: "With more exhibitors and visitors than ever before we can see that the merging of the two shows was the right strategic move for the waste management industry."

Show director Gerry Sherwood said: "At this stage our figures indicate a significant increase in footfall in the first two days of the show. We are delighted that the industry has supported the event and responded in such a positive way."

Supported by the Environmental Services Association (ESA), RWM in partnership with CIWM is the UK's biggest event for organisations with an interest in waste and recycling. Formed late last year from the merger of the successful Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition (RWM) and Futuresource shows, it has featured more than 650 exhibitors plus a three-day seminar programme with over 90 speakers - the largest collection of free content in the industry and all CPD-accredited by the CIWM. Designed to inform, improve and inspire organisations, it covers all areas of waste and recycling, from plant, vehicles and equipment to practical advice on how effective waste management can help to cut costs and turn waste into a valuable resource.
