âImaginariumâ marks major industrial investment for Exotecâs robotics future
Exotec has opened a major new headquarters in northern France, signalling its ambitions for the next phase of global growth in warehouse robotics.
The facility, named Imaginarium, will act as a strategic hub at the heart of Europe, supporting the companyâs plans to design, develop and industrialise its technologies within the region.
The inauguration also marked the launch of Exosummit, a new event bringing together Exotecâs customers, partners and wider ecosystem.
Exotec said the new site reflects a long-term industrial investment, building on the approach it has taken since its founding a decade ago.
The company has focused on combining engineering, software and industrial capabilities in Europe while delivering solutions for customers worldwide.
Imaginarium has been developed in partnership with the BMG Group under a 12-year forward-funded lease agreement signed in 2022.
The headquarters sits along the Roubaix Canal on the site of a former office complex that has been redeveloped for industrial and technological use.
Spanning 25,000 square metres, the facility brings together more than 700 employees from design, production and support teams on a single site.
Its layout has been designed to improve operational efficiency, with a central hub space connecting all areas of activity and optimising proximity between functions.
Production is a key focus within the headquarters, with an 8,560-square-metre manufacturing area equipped with 11 operational Exotec systems for testing, production and continuous improvement.
Romain Moulin, chief executive and co-founder of Exotec, said the site represents a significant step forward for the business.
âImaginarium represents a major technological and industrial investment,â he said.
He added: âBy integrating R&D, production and operations within our headquarters, we strengthen our ability to develop robust, scalable solutions that are closely aligned with our customersâ requirements.â
The company said the integrated model supports the close combination of hardware and software, designed for deployment in complex and evolving logistics environments.
Renaud Heitz, chief technology officer and co-founder, said the project underlines Exotecâs long-term commitment to Europe.
âImaginarium reflects our commitment to building in Europe, and our decision to invest for the long term,â he said.
He added that the headquarters is designed to support Exotecâs technological roadmap and industrial ambitions over time, while remaining anchored locally.
Exotec said the site will also play a central role in its continued international expansion.
More than 700 employees representing over 60 nationalities are based at Imaginarium, with teams regularly visiting from offices in Atlanta, Munich, London and Tokyo.
The France-based company continues to accelerate its global footprint, with recent projects announced in South Korea with MUSINSA and in Central Europe with Renault.
