W Smith Ltd ‘Recommends the Coolload System to Everyone’

A veteran of the transport industry, W Smith (Stoke on Trent) Limited has seen significant benefits since becoming a member of the Coolload European Freight Exchange System. Since joining the on-line system in June 2006, W Smith Ltd has noted the time savings and improved cost efficiencies that Coolload's freight-matching system has brought the company.

W Smith (Stoke on Trent) Limited commenced trading as the first motorised taxi service in Stoke on Trent in 1922. Through determination and continued expansion the company is now engaged in both International and UK operations with a fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles offering logistics solutions to the chilled food supply chain.

Commenting on the significance of the Coolload system with regards to the continued expansion plans and success of W Smith Ltd, UK Planner, Wayne Murphy, explains:

"We chose Coolload because although we do not approve of vehicles running empty we have a lot of spot hire work available to us. We can use Coolload to advertise for the help of other reliable hauliers in the industry. Coolload has saved us a lot of time and that is very important to us as there really aren't enough hours in the day to call hauliers individually to ask if they have a spare vehicle to help us with a load that we can't cover with our own fleet."

Coolload's considerable experience and knowledge of the temperature-controlled transport sector helps to ensure that the system runs smoothly and the integrity of the service is upheld through background checks on all members. Discussing the contacts forged through Coolload's on-line freight exchange system, Wayne Murphy enthuses: "We have been a subscriber for eighteen months now and we are extremely happy with the way it is going. It took a short while to get off the ground because this system is partially built on trust but once you build a friendship with other hauliers it just takes off from there. I would recommend the Coolload system to everyone!"
