The new trailers are equipped with Krone Telematics to improve fleet visibility, maintenance planning and uptime
Vicovanu Transport has expanded its trailer fleet and stepped up its use of telematics as it continues to grow its container logistics operation.
The Thurrock-based company has acquired 15 additional Krone Box Liner FS10 sliding chassis trailers, taking its Krone fleet to around 109 units.
All of the new trailers are fitted with Krone Telematics, while 70 units across the wider fleet now operate with the full system.
Vicovanu plans to retrofit the remaining trailers, creating a fully connected fleet with greater visibility over location, operating condition and maintenance needs.
The investment is intended to improve asset use, reduce downtime and strengthen customer service across the company’s UK and European logistics operations.
Founded in 2013, Vicovanu Transport is a family-run business specialising in container transport from its base in Thurrock, Essex.
Its services include import and export movements, express deliveries, lift-assist work and multimodal logistics across road, rail, sea and air freight.

He said the Krone Box Liner had delivered the reliability, flexibility and durability required for intensive container work.

Vicovanu added that the relationship with Krone had played an important role in the company’s continued investment.

The Box Liner FS10 was developed with Krone UK for container transport and can carry a range of configurations.
These include one 40ft container, one 45ft container, two 20ft containers or one 30ft unit.
The chassis uses double T-longitudinal beams, welded cross-members and reinforced components, along with extendable underrun protection that complies with EC regulations.
Its steel parts are shot-blasted, CDC-coated and powder-coated to help protect against corrosion.
Krone backs the chassis with a ten-year rust-through warranty.
The addition of telematics gives Vicovanu real-time information on trailer location, operating status and technical condition.
Fleet managers can also access mileage, braking system information, coupling status and diagnostic data.
The company said this would allow potential faults to be identified earlier and maintenance to be planned more effectively.
Greater visibility should also help improve journey planning and give customers more confidence that container movements are being managed efficiently.

Each trailer is also fitted with Krone Smart Tyre Monitoring, which tracks tyre pressure and temperature in real time.
The system is designed to improve safety, reduce the risk of tyre-related incidents and support more efficient maintenance.
