A UK freight firm has bought into a German transport operation providing the right to deliver and collect between Europe and the UK and Ireland.
Exact Logistics has bought into German transport system CTL, a company owned by individual transport firms who co-operate to offer delivery services within Germany and Europe.
The deal gives Exact Logistics the right to deliver and collect from CTL's 130 partners between Germany and the UK and Ireland.
It also allows the firm, which has its headquarters in Rugby, to improve the efficiency and speed of deliveries to and from Germany with the company targeting a 48-hour transit time in the future.
The deal also provides Exact Logistics with a European system which will allow it to deliver goods to and from the UK right across the European continent to countries including Luxemburg, Poland, Turkey, Spain and Finland.
The firm will also now be able to offer daily delivery services between Germany and Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece, Malta, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria.
Adam Shuter, MD of Exact Logistics, said: "We are delighted to have secured this deal to control the freight channels for CTL partners between Germany and the UK and Ireland.
"This is an exciting time for Exact Logistics and we are looking forward to increasing the range and quality of our services as well as passing the benefits of this deal onto our clients."
