Toyota unveils four new warehouse trucks to boost handling efficiency

Toyota has expanded its electric warehouse truck range with new order picking and towing solutions

Toyota Material Handling Europe has launched four new compact warehouse trucks designed to speed up order picking, reduce energy consumption and improve operator comfort in busy logistics environments.

The latest additions to its Optio and Tracto ranges include two low-level order pickers and two electric tow tractors, targeting warehouses, distribution centres and manufacturing operations.

The launch forms part of Toyota's ongoing "Next level of Performance" campaign, expanding its next-generation handling equipment portfolio with machines designed for demanding daily operations.

The new Toyota Optio L-series OSE100 and OSE100W order pickers each offer a load capacity of 1,000kg, with elevated platforms allowing operators to pick goods at second-level heights.

The OSE100 features an elevating platform and an initial lift function that raises the forks to a more comfortable working height, helping reduce physical strain during repetitive handling tasks.

Meanwhile, the OSE100W incorporates a walkthrough platform, allowing operators to handle bulkier items more easily when loading goods onto the forks.

Both models feature a compact three-wheel design, providing improved manoeuvrability in confined warehouse spaces and busy storage areas.

Operators can select different electronic steering configurations, while optional heating systems are available for those working in colder environments.

Standard walkie buttons also allow the trucks to move forward while operators walk alongside them, reducing the need to repeatedly climb on and off during picking operations.

Alongside the order pickers, Toyota has introduced the Tracto S-series TSE300 and TSE500 electric tow tractors, offering towing capacities of three and five tonnes respectively.

Both models can reach travel speeds of up to 12km/h, making them suitable for moving loads over longer distances in warehouses, factories and logistics facilities.

Lithium-ion battery options are also available, allowing opportunity charging during breaks to support longer working shifts.

The tow tractors feature updated operator compartments and improved battery access, alongside standard inching buttons that allow precise positioning during towing operations.

Optional rear-view mirrors, directional indicator lights and Rockinger hitches are also available to support more demanding transport tasks.

Toyota says energy efficiency has been a major focus across both product ranges, with lightweight construction and improved drive technology designed to lower power consumption without sacrificing performance.

The company has also introduced wider cabin access, integrated storage compartments and redesigned battery covers to simplify maintenance and improve everyday usability.

Reducing operator fatigue has been another priority, with the trucks engineered to minimise vibration exposure during extended working periods.

According to Toyota, assessments based on ISO 23308 testing criteria have recognised the OSE100 and OSE100W as best-in-class for energy consumption and noise levels.

Safety features include optional blue and red warning lights, helping improve visibility and awareness around moving vehicles in busy working environments.

Mark Peters, Marketing Director at Toyota Material Handling Europe, said the latest additions reflected growing customer demand for equipment combining productivity with operator wellbeing.

"Customers increasingly want equipment that combines performance, efficiency and operator comfort. These new models deliver all three, extending the benefits of our latest platform to more applications," he said.

"By combining top-class efficiency, low vibration and ergonomic design, they help operators perform at their best."

The new models are intended to support businesses looking to improve materials handling efficiency while reducing energy use, maintenance downtime and physical demands on staff.

Order books for the OSE100, OSE100W, TSE300 and TSE500 are scheduled to open in November 2026, with production expected to begin during the first quarter of 2027.

Toyota has also confirmed plans to expand its Optio range further with the introduction of an additional OSE120CB model.

The latest launches strengthen Toyota's range of compact warehouse equipment as businesses seek more efficient ways to pick, move and handle goods across increasingly demanding logistics operations.
