Toyota gets on-board at the Commercial Vehicle Show

Showing its commitment to the transport and logistics industry Toyota Material Handling UK presents a tailor-made exhibition fleet at the Commercial Vehicle Show (CVS), 9th - 11th April 2013 at NEC Birmingham.

After a successful show last year, Toyota Material Handling UK will once again showcase its range of materials handling equipment at CVS 2013.

The exhibition trucks on the Toyota stand (Hall 4 Stand 4G120) have been chosen for their suitability to work in the transport and distribution sector, from warehouses and yards to the back of lorries, horizontal transport to loading and unloading. The fleet includes both the Toyota Tonero engine-powered forklift and Toyota Traigo48 electric-powered forklift, BT Levio powered pallet truck with fork pockets plus an option for on-board charging, BT Lifter hand pallet trucks plus a Toyota 50-50 half refurbished forklift.

The BT Levio powered pallet truck (LWE130) is an entry level powered pallet truck ideal for use on the back of lorries. It's compact size and low weight allows it to be easily transported and stored with limited impact on the usable space on the back of the lorry. With ergonomic steering and BT Castorlink system for optimum stability the BT Levio provides easy horizontal movement in low intensity operations, decreasing manual handling and increasing safety for the driver and load.

The model is also available with on-board charging as an option, allowing opportunity charging on the lorry whilst travelling from destination to destination. The gel battery which is fitted to the LWE130 works in line with the intelligent vehicle charging system to ensure the truck is only charged while the lorry is moving, always giving highest priority to the lorry's battery during charging to guarantee no loss of power to the lorry itself.

The used engine-powered Toyota forklift on the stand contains a Toyota industrial engine that is designed for second or third life and the part refurbishment illustrates the quality of used equipment following a typical 5 year working life and after refurbishment. All used equipment supplied by Toyota comes from their rental fleet which has been looked after by Toyota, from new, with genuine Toyota and BT parts. All trucks are refurbished at Toyota's UK facility to a specified finish level that meets the needs and budgets of the new owner.

Tony Wallis, Sales and Marketing Director at Toyota Material Handling UK, comments: "The transport and distribution industry is an important sector for Toyota.
