Total Logistics enhanced its commitment to e-commerce and multi-channel retailing in sponsoring the 2011 Snow Valley Golden Chariot Online Retail Delivery Awards. The event (held on Wednesday 19th January at London's Centrepoint) celebrated outstanding service and brought together some of the biggest names in retail and e-commerce.
Total Logistics' e-commerce sector expert, Martin Brickell, presented the Silver Chariot award for Best Cross-Channel Service which was won by Topshop for its consistency of service between stores, call centre, and web. This was the second year that the awards have taken place, with the focus on recognising retailers that have provided outstanding service - as identified in the research for Snow Valley's annual Online Retail Delivery Report. Other Silver Chariot winners included ASOS for Best International Experience, Jo Malone for Best Brand Experience and Kiddicare for Best Customer Service. The Golden Chariot award for overall delivery excellence went to John Lewis.
Brickell comments: "With retailers currently experiencing increasing commodity prices, rising fuel costs and a hike in VAT, inventory management and supply-chain optimisation are key areas of focus for 2011. As a result we will see even closer relationships forming between retailers and their supply-chain partners. This along with the spectacular growth of internet shopping is forcing multi-channel retailers to rethink their entire supply chain. All of which is extremely challenging, but critical to the customer experience and business success. For this reason the partnership between Snow Valley and Total Logistics is very timely and we look forward to engaging in similar projects in the future."
Sarah Clelland, marketing manager at Snow Valley, said: "Total Logistics were the perfect sponsor for our Golden Chariot awards. The event is all about celebrating excellence in multi-channel retail service delivery, and supply chain optimisation is a big part of this for large retailers. Being able to demonstrate examples of excellence to the industry and at the same time highlight a partner of the calibre of Total Logistics, with the knowledge and experience to help them achieve similar goals, made the event a big success for all involved."
