Ti launches US operation and new report

Transport Intelligence (Ti) is celebrating the launch of its new US Operations Center in Atlanta, GA with the publication of its latest report, North America Logistics 2009. The report, which provides a comprehensive background on the US, Canadian and Mexican transportation sectors, coincides with Ti's own development into the world's largest single logistics market.

Transport Intelligence Inc. (Ti, North America) will be headed up by seasoned industry professional Ted Alford. Ted has had many years experience in the transportation industry starting out in the logistics division of the USAF and based for much of his career in Europe. He has undertaken roles in TNT, Schenker, and most latterly with DHL Exel. Ted's role will be to extend Ti's global portfolio of market research products and services to a wider customer base throughout the region as well as to reinforce relationships with existing clients.

Commenting on the new expansion, John Manners-Bell, Ti's Chief Executive stated: 'I am delighted to have appointed Ted to this important new role of establishing our US operation. Our report indicates that despite the economic uncertainty there are many opportunities within the logistics and transportation industry. North American transportation companies are increasingly looking to expand into markets in Europe and Asia Pacific where Ti has a long established presence. We will now be well placed to fulfil all their market research needs.'

Alford commented: 'This is an exciting opportunity for Ti. Not only will we be reaching out to a new customer base but we are looking forward to working more closely with our existing customers in the region. We will be looking forward to providing the full range of our market intelligence services, including, through our joint venture with EVE Partners, a comprehensive mergers and acquisitions portfolio.'
