The Vinyl Foundation publishes a list

of Europe's socially responsible PVC product manufacturers.

Following the establishment of a brand new funding mechanism for the European PVC converting industry to support the Vinyl 2010 initiative, a positive list of those companies who have made their first payments through this new system, has just been published on the internet. Vinyl 2010 is an internationally respected ten year voluntary commitment that is working for the sustainable future for the whole of the European PVC industry. The Vinyl Foundation has been established to allow for further and more equitable financing of Vinyl 2010's PVC recycling projects from Europe's PVC product manufacturers. "Since 2000, as an industry, both raw material producers and converters have been investing millions of euros each year through Vinyl 2010 to establish a robust industry to recycle PVC products at the end of their first life. But not all companies have been contributing to this essential programme, which last year was responsible for supporting the recycling of some 150,000 tonnes of post consumer PVC waste across the EU" says Joachim Eckstein, Chairman of the Vinyl Foundation. "Funding through the Vinyl Foundation, to support the growing recycling of PVC, will be essential to the sustainability of our industry in the long term. Now for the first time the public will be able to go onto the internet and see who the responsible PVC product manufacturers are" he continues.
