The organiser of the 2010 International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) is celebrating the fact that an impressive 70% of stand space is sold almost 18 months before the show.
Said Event Director for Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions, Rob Fisher, "In addition to our loyal early bookers, we've now managed to secure the presence several other major players, includng the fork-lift giant Crown."
Held only once every three years, IMHX is the undisputed leader in UK logistics events, showcasing thousands of products and services across its 45,000m2 footprint. With the slogan 'Inspiring Materials Handling eXcellence', IMHX 2010 is set to include yet again all the industry's major names.
Taking place from 2-5 March 2010 at the NEC in Birmingham, IMHX will feature not only materials handling equipment but also health & safety systems, software solutions, racking & shelving, storage systems, pallets & palletising, property, recruitment & training, third party logistics, transport & distribution, flooring, packaging, handling system design, financial services and warehousing.
In a move unprecedented in UK logistics trade shows, Quartz revealed in May of this year its bold plans to offset the carbon used at IMHX 2010. The exhibition will work towards being carbon neutral by offsetting the CO2 produced through staging the show and through visitor travel to the venue. For the first time, the exhibition will feature a special Environment Zone. This green-styled open lounge area will include terminals at which visitors can offset their show travel footprint – at no cost to themselves – using a web-based carbon calculator. Working with an accredited carbon offset partner, Quartz will offset the CO2 resulting from the exhibition by planting trees within the UK.
