Terex Trucks announces new apprenticeship recruitment drive
Motherwell-based manufacturer of rigid and articulated haulers, Terex Trucks, is on the hunt for six new recruits to join its modern apprenticeship programme.
Based in the company’s global HQ in Motherwell and covering a wide range of disciplines, the apprenticeships are available in the Craft, Technical, Quality and Procurement teams.
As well as offering hands-on experience, the paid apprenticeship provides its students with a range of qualifications including Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) and National Certificates (NCs) as well as the opportunity to progress to further education on completion.
Paul Tierney, HR director at Terex Trucks, said: “We are looking for six bright, committed apprentices who are eager to learn and have an ambition to succeed. They should have a genuine interest in engineering, quality or procurement.
“We understand that college or university isn’t the only route to accomplish a good career so we are proud to offer the opportunity for students to learn a trade in a practical environment whilst achieving qualifications and earning money. All this while under the wing of a global off-road trucks manufacturer owned by one of the world’s best known brands, Volvo.”
The Terex Trucks modern apprenticeship programme will take approximately four years to complete, during which time each apprentice will have a dedicated mentor and work alongside expert engineers, technicians and experienced team members.
Full training will be given both at Terex Trucks’ HQ in Newhouse, Motherwell and at training providers EKGTA in East Kilbride and Training Matters in Hillington Innovation Centre.
The closing date for applications is 19 May 2017. For more information on the scheme and how to apply, visit www.terextrucks.com/about/apprentice
