The TCS&D Charity Dinner - taking place at the end of the first day of a new exhibition for the chilled and frozen supply chain sector - will raise vital funds for the children's charity, 'Dreams Come True'.
Comprising the co-located Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution and Frozen & Chilled Foods shows, the brand-new event takes place at Peterborough's Exec Exhibition Centre on 14 & 15 September. Supported by both the Food Storage & Distribution Federation (FSDF) and the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF), the exhibitions will feature over 80 of the industry's major players, who will showcase a broad range of products and services designed to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the chilled and frozen supply chain.
Networking dinner
The TCS&D Dinner makes a welcome return after a break of some 15 years. Says Richard Cogan, Director for the shows' organisers, "We are delighted to be bringing back the TCS&D Dinner, which was a hugely popular event in the industry's diary and we are confident that it will once again provide a superb opportunity for networking." The dinner is open to both exhibitors and visitors, with guests enjoying a four-course meal and wine with entertainment and the opportunity to chat with other professionals from the cold supply chain.
Inspirational charity
Guests will also be contributing to a very worthy cause, with £5 of the price of each ticket - plus the proceeds from a Paper Aeroplane Competition and a Silent Auction - going to the charity Dreams Come True. This UK-wide organisation helps to make the wishes of terminally and seriously ill children become reality. Some youngsters want to meet their celebrity hero or favourite Disney character, while others want to visit their grandparents abroad, swim with dolphins or ride in a racing car. Many want help with their everyday lives and Dreams Come True is also able to provide equipment such as sensory aids, wheelchairs or specially adapted bicycles. Over the last 10 years, Dreams Come True has brought smiles to the faces of more than five thousand children, as well as their friends, family and carers. Live demo area
Adding to the visitor experience at the new shows will be a live demonstration area, where exhibitors will be able to showcase solutions and benefits in action for a variety of products, including a number of forklift trucks. Visitors will also be able to enjoy networking in a special café area.
Free seminars
There will also be a free and highly educational seminar programme, sponsored by DP World London Gateway, the UK's newest deep-sea container port combined with Europe's largest logistics park. Currently being constructed east of central London, the facility will enable the world's largest container ships to call at the capital. The seminars - which will include presentations from the Food Storage & Distribution Federation (FSDF) and the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) - will feature a range of key topics and trends in the cold supply chain.
