SWR blossom in the garden centre sector with the Squire's Group waste management contract

Specialist Waste Recycling (SWR) has won the contract to manage all waste for Squire's Garden Centres, across its 14 centres located in the Southeast of England.

The Squire's account takes SWR's portfolio of clients to a total of nine of the major garden centre groups, including Dobbies, Klondyke and Notcutts, making them the UK's leading specialists in the sector.

Under the new contract SWR aims to more than double the current recycling levels across all centres through increased onsite segregation. The ability of SWR to manage the multiple and varied waste streams seen at garden centres under a single contract, whilst offering first class customer service were the key drivers behind Squire's decision to select SWR.

Jeannette Coltman, Group Health & Safety & Facilities Manager at Squire's, said: "As a member of the Garden Centre Association, Squire's has been aware of SWR's successful work with a number of our fellow members. This has given us peace of mind that SWR is the right company to manage our waste in the most sustainable and cost effective way. Environmental best practice is extremely important to us and it is important that we can demonstrate our green credentials to our customers, staff and other stakeholders."
