Sterling celebrations at Hull distribution and Warehousing firm D&P Haulage
Hull-based D&P Haulage are celebrating after achieving FORS Silver accreditation.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation that aims to improve fleet activity throughout the UK. D&P Haulage, part of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has held a FORS Bronze accreditation since 2013 and last year decided to work towards a FORS Silver. This required operators to dramatically improve their overall fleet safety and environmental impact and efficiency. With this recent achievement, D&P Haulage become one of only 50 general hauliers in the UK and the first Palletways member to gain Silver accreditation.
Paul Charlton, principal at D&P Haulage, said: “The FORS silver accreditation is a great coup for us – it sends out a strong signal to our customers and competitors that we are committed to continuous improvement.”
D&P Haulage handles single pallet loads to large scale consignments and covers the HU postcode in Hull. The company was founded in 1984 and has enjoyed steady growth year on year. Today, it operates from a four-acre site which includes a 65,000 sqft warehousing facility off Hedon Road, close to the Port of Hull. D&P Haulage specialises in the express distribution of consignments ranging from a single pallet through to a full 27T trailer load.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve fleet activity throughout the UK and beyond. The standard is voluntary and open to any company operating a fleet including vans, lorries, mini-buses and coaches.
