Specialist logistics firm Import Services is poised to meet demand for the latest UK toys tipped to be 2008 bestsellers.
One of the toy industry's leading logistics providers, Import Services, will be keeping high street and independent retailers across the country stocked up with Flair's new playthings – Gormiti and Pound Puppies.
UK toy distributor Flair, which manufactures well-known brands including, Aqua Beads, Etch-A-Sketch and Sylvanian Families, will be launching a new line of collectable figures called Gormiti.
Pound Puppies - the soft, lovable puppies with floppy ears and droopy eyes which were massive in the eighties - are to make a 2008 comeback in Flair's revival of the cuddly toys.
In 2007, Import Services moved nearly five million Flair toys through the Port of Southampton and in the coming year, the logistics provider will manage the physical movement of the two new lines as well as the established brands in Flair's portfolio.
Carl Moran, finance director at Flair, said: "Gormiti is a new range of highly detailed collectible figures with cards that can be collected and swapped – it has already been very successful in Italy and other European Markets, and Flair is the sole UK and Eire distributor. We are expecting the Gormiti collectibles to be a huge hit – particularly with boys.
"Flair is an expert in reviving retro brands, and we're really looking forward to the re-launch of Pound Puppies as they will appeal to a new generation as well as bringing back nostalgic memories to the generation who loved them in the eighties."
Southampton-based Import Services has managed the toy company's logistics operations since 1999.
