Link 51 mobile racking offers key benefits. High density storage that helps to maximise warehouse capacity is the direct result of mobile pallet racking designs from industry leader, Link 51. The concept not only minimises footprint requirements – and therefore warehouse storage costs – but can also meet both bulk and rapid access needs by allowing pallet location or retrieval from any position within the layout at the touch of a button.
Based on Link 51's highly successful and proven XL racking system, the mobile option is centred on guide tracks set into the floor that support the mobile chassis structure. Multiple clear entry bays of racking – up to 20 x 3400 mm in length and approximately 11 metres in height – can then be installed on each chassis in a back-to-back configuration.
"When access to a specific pallet position is required, the appropriate aisle is opened electronically to allow forklift truck entry," comments Link 51's spokesperson, Major Account Manager Chris Patey-Round. "All other aisles remain closed which minimises the floor space required for pallet storage when compared to conventional Wide Aisle and VNA pallet racking solutions.
"Movement of each back-to-back block is achieved via either a control box positioned alongside each run or through the use of a hand-held unit," he continues. "As the relevant racking aisles are opened, lighting and safety protection can be automatically triggered, which again can help to keep expensive energy costs under control. After use, the racking aisles revert back to the closed position leaving a complete block of mobile racking which gives the added benefit of additional product security."
Virtually any existing warehouse location where floor space availability is important can be addressed with the Link 51 design, whilst for new build installations, initial construction costs can also be minimised. The company can point to a range of installations in both bulk and rapid access environments and highlights the particular benefits arising for cold store applications, where the investment in dedicated temperature-controlled areas can thus be kept to a minimum.
"The full range of our XL pallet racking components and accessories can be specified within the design of any Link 51 Mobile Pallet Racking system. This further enhances its suitability and flexibility in covering the vast majority of our customers needs, across a wide range of industries," concludes Chris Patey-Round.
