SMC, the worldwide leading expert in pneumatics, can today confirm it has signed a new global trading agreement with RS Components, the world's leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products. This new agreement further extends the partnership which the two companies initiated in 2009, with the addition of new territories including Spain, China, Australia and New Zealand. SMC will give RS access to its complete range of pneumatic control equipment.
The signing of the new agreement re-affirms SMC's objective of working with its sales partners to ensure that customers can buy the products they need via efficient and cost-effective sales channels. RS will be able to provide a more comprehensive product range worldwide, maintaining high standards of product availability for its customers. The move also allows RS to offer competitive prices to its customers for SMC's comprehensive and innovative product range, which includes actuators, connectors, control valves and pressure regulators, and more diverse ranges such as ionizers, grippers and dryers.
The new agreement would be a huge benefit to both SMC and RS, said Steve Bangs, Managing Director of SMC Pneumatics (UK) Ltd: "We're delighted to be furthering our successful relationship with RS. This agreement will give us even greater access to its worldwide distribution network, helping us to develop our customer base globally and increase the sales of our industry-leading pneumatic control products."
Kevin Thompson, General Manager Maintenance at Electrocomponents, commented: "This new agreement reinforces the importance of the partnership to both RS and SMC, not only in Europe but now globally. The combination of our high service worldwide distribution capability with SMC's technological leadership will enable us to better serve our customers' needs by giving them access to the latest pneumatic control technology. This strengthens our offer in the automation and control market, our primary technology focus for the maintenance sector."
