WORKPLACE equipment provider Slingsby will be showcasing a wide range of innovative products at this year's National Back Exchange Conference after working closely with the organisation to gain an unrivalled understanding of the needs of the moving and handling profession.
The event is the only exhibition dedicated to those working in manual handling and back care and it takes place from 26th to 28th September 2011 at the Hinckley Island Hotel, Leicestershire.
Although Slingsby now sells more than 35,000 workplace products, the company has been supplying a market leading range of trolleys, trucks, tugs and lifting equipment since 1893. One of Slingsby's Key Account Managers, Paul Hawkins is a member of the Lancashire and Greater Manchester Back Exchange (LGMBE) and one of their group meetings was recently held at Slingsby's head office and included product demonstrations and practical equipment trials.
Paul explains: "Slingsby's success is based on our ability to solve problems associated with moving and handling so joining the LGMBE gives us an even better understanding of the issues and requirements that continually arise across a wide range of industries. In addition it enables us to recommend specific products or even bespoke solutions for individual scenarios and I'm confident that all this knowledge will prove to be invaluable to visiting members at the National Back Exchange Conference."
Drayton O'Connor, Secretary of the LGMBE, says: "We would like to thank Slingsby for hosting our monthly meeting recently. Our members particularly enjoyed the equipment demonstrations which are very hands-on and the practical sessions which were both useful and interesting. Included in the products that Slingsby will be exhibiting will be a new range of state of the art tugs that feature electric motors and are designed to pull, push and steer wheeled loads of up to 1000kg, with hardly any effort required by the operator.
Paul adds: "These tugs are simple to use and enable anyone to manoeuvre substantial loads around confined spaces by literally flicking a switch. They can be adapted to work with a wide range of trolleys, carts and pallet systems in all types of premises from hospitals to warehouses and shops through to factories. These products will immediately increase productivity, reduce manual handling and improve safety and for larger premises there's also an option to add a ride-on platform."
