A company celebrating 25 years in business has announced plans to increase its charitable giving to commemorate the milestone.
Morrison Freight has built up a reputation as a leading European road freight specialist operating across the continent for the last three decades.
Now to celebrate 25 years in business, the company has donated three trailers to the Mustard Seeds Relief Mission, in support of the charityâs âLove in a Boxâ Christmas shoebox appeal.
The company will also run a âsilver ticketâ competition where four loyal customers will get the chance to pick their chosen charity who will each receive ÂŁ250.
Co-owner Darren Ryan said: âWe wanted to do something special to commemorate our 25th anniversary.
âMorrison Freight has always prided itself on giving back and this seemed an appropriate way to celebrate.â
Having started with a consortium of four people in a small office, the company has grown to a three-acre, two-storey headquarters in Great Blakenham, near Ipswich, employing almost 20 staff members.
It is now led by Darren Ryan and Lee Steward, who took over the ownership of Morrison Freight earlier this year having been at the company for 13 years.
Lee explained: âWe both signed into a management buy-out plan 10 years ago. We have spent the last decade learning everything about running the company so when we took over officially, there was seamless continuity.â
Bosses at the Suffolk-based company have put down its longevity to the companyâs adaptability and customer-focused approach.
Darren said: âOver the years, we have adapted to the market and diversified to enable us to offer even more to customers while remaining competitive.
âWe realised our clients costs were getting squeezed so we wanted to be more cost-effective and help them as we always look to work in partnership with our clientsâ
Lee added: âWe have always looked after our staff. We feel that is very important as having happy staff is a key part of a successful business.
âWe offer a bespoke package to whatever a client needs. We are very proud of our history, but we now want to make our own mark the business.â
Earlier this year, Morrison Freight run a stand at the Mulitmodal trade show in Birminghamâs NEC for the first time in its history with plans to rebrand more trailers in the pipeline.
Morrison Freightâs customer base includes steel manufacturers, charities, publishers, automotive sector and cosmetic manufactures.
