Industrial resin flooring materials manufactured by Resdev have been installed at Tetra Pak Ltd in Wrexham, providing a robust flooring solution in a busy warehousing environment. The installation features inlaid demarcation and numbering to allow immediate and clear identification of storage locations to facilitate smooth, fast fork lift truck operations.
Tetra Pak's manufacturing plant in Wrexham produces laminated paperboard packaging material for the liquid food industry. Overall cleanliness and maintenance of a high quality environment are of vital importance, so it was essential to select a flooring finish to eliminate dusting and produce a functional and pristine storage area.
Finished goods are stored on wooden and metal pallets placed on the floor, so it was also necessary to incorporate demarcation in the shape of aisle and product numbers which were clearly visible to fork lift truck operators collecting goods for shipment.
Working closely with flooring specialists Impact Flooring Systems Ltd, main contractors Henry Williams & Son specified Resdev's flexible, abrasion resistant polyurethane floor seal for this application. Yielding an attractive transparent gloss finish, this product seals and penetrates concrete, acting as a strengthening binder and reinforcer. It is ideal for use in areas subject to heavy wear, and is capable of withstanding wheeled traffic.
Initial sample sections were completed and assessed, and the resultant quality and finished appearance were so good that rest of warehouse was commissioned.
