The new site brings Powerlift’s departments under one roof
North West materials handling specialist Powerlift has opened a new depot in Skelmersdale to support its continued growth and improve service capacity across the region.
The family-run firm says the new site will help it respond faster to customers needing forklifts, warehouse equipment, servicing, parts and operator training.
The depot brings Powerlift’s departments under one roof and includes a larger parts operation, increased racking and storage capacity, and more engineers on the road.
Powerlift will officially showcase the site at an open day on Friday 10 July, giving local businesses the chance to tour the facility, meet the team and view its equipment and services.
Managing director Steve Routledge said the move marked an important milestone for the business after its early days in Runcorn.
“Our new depot in Skelmersdale is especially meaningful for us, as it’s close to where both mine and Emma’s forklift careers began, so in many ways, it feels like coming home,” he said.
The company says the investment will strengthen support for customers across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, retail and distribution.
Visitors to the open day will be able to discuss operational challenges, see a range of materials handling solutions and learn more about Powerlift’s servicing and training offer.
Operations director Emma Routledge said: “Whether you run one truck or a full fleet, there’s always value in seeing what’s available and talking through ways to improve efficiency.”
