Power Jacks steps up international sales drive and opens new interactive website

Leading manufacturer for precision linear actuation, power transmission and mechanical jacking, Power Jacks, is stepping up its international sales drive after receiving a prestigious honour for its overseas sales performance.

Central to the Scottish engineering company's global marketing activities is a major brand modernisation exercise - including a new interactive website designed to provide a much greater technical focus for Power Jacks' customers and international network of distributors.

The Queens Award for Enterprise 2010 recognised the company's considerable global growth, with overseas sales increasing by nearly 250% between 2007 and 2009 - the equivalent of more than £5million.

Customer Service and Marketing Director Bruce Hamper said: "Last year almost 70% of our total production was exported, underlining the key significance of our international markets.

"Today we have a network of 23 distributors around the globe and customers in 60 countries, as well as a permanent new office in China.

"To maintain that impetus we have markedly stepped up our marketing activity in key geographical areas, and supported that by reinvigorating our brand identity.

"Our new website in particular now plays a key role in our connections with customers and distributors alike, providing as it does interactive features and new levels of detail on products and applications.

"It is a fantastic new resource that not only looks great but contains such a depth of technical information that in itself it can help customers take an informed view of their product needs."

The product ranges detailed on the website include screw jacks, electric linear actuators, bevel gearboxes and planetary roller screws.

The website www.powerjacks.com features:

greater detail on each product range, with focus on typical applications, selection process, possible configurations, systems and the ability for special designs

at least one representative image of each product line, with more detailed technical information available online as well as through linked PDF documents

applications detailed in five main categories, including new applications and a breakdown of components used in each project and links to the relevant product

A streamlined 'system components' section that groups all electrical motors, reduction gearboxes, couplings & drive shafts, drive components and motion control products.

It will soon also feature a larger login section for Power Jacks distributors and region-specific sites, including translated material.
