Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) and the organisers of Plastics Recycling Expo have announced a partnership that will see them collaborate on Europe's first exhibition and conference dedicated to plastics recycling taking place 18-19 June 2014 at the Telford International Centre, UK.
"The European scene of plastics exhibitions was entirely lacking an event devoted to Plastics Recycling," said Ton Emans, PRE president. "With a growing concern about the environment and the revised legislation on the waste recycling targets that is to be introduced by the European Commission by the end of 2014 it is a perfect moment to launch the Plastics Recycling Expo. This exhibition will strengthen the position of plastic recyclers and enhance their visibility on the plastics market in Europe. This event will embrace the whole value chain of plastics recycling and will give an exposure to new trends and new technologies within recycling."
"We are delighted that Plastics Recyclers Europe is partnering Plastics Recycling Expo," said Steve Crowhurst, Managing Director of Crain Communications, organiser of Plastics Recycling Expo. "Plastics recycling is coming of age as government at all levels looks to reduce plastic waste and improve our use of this valuable resource. New enterprises, new technologies and growing infrastructure are developing to improve plastics recycling and Plastics Recycling Expo is uniquely placed to bring all sides of the industry together from across Europe."
Designed specifically for plastics recycling professionals, the two-day Plastics Recycling Expo exhibition and strategic conference will connect brand owners and specialists in design and manufacturing of packaging, automotive, medical and consumer goods sectors with those already involved in plastics recycling, including waste management companies, local authorities, government and companies working in plastic collection, recycling and reuse to do business and discuss the future of plastics recycling. PRE's eight working groups will also meet at the Telford International Centre during Plastics Recycling Expo 18-19 June 2014. The working groups cover the following plastics: PET, HDPE, LDPE, PVC, WEEE, Mixed Plastics, Crates & Pallets and ELV.
Plastics Recyclers Europe is the professional representative body of plastics recyclers in Europe. It promotes plastics mechanical recycling and conditions that enable profitable and sustainable business, while offering a service platform to its members. Its members constitute 80% of the European recycling capacity, processing more than 3 million tonnes of collected plastics per year.
Plastics Recycling Expo is also supported by RECOUP (Recycling of Used Plastics), WRAP and Smithers Rapra, while its conference programme also includes a LARAC (Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee) Day examining plastics recycling issues from the local authority perspective.
