Peak-Ryzex wins APC Overnight managed services contract

APC Overnight, the UK's largest independent next day parcel delivery firm, has awarded Peak-Ryzex the managed services contract for its new proof of delivery (POD) system. The contract covers the supply of Motorola MC67 rugged PDAs with a new software platform from Blackbay and integrated Route Monkey delivery scheduling. Peak-Ryzex managed services will ensure smooth implementation of the new technology, with full support covering staging and maintenance.

Multi-award winning APC Overnight uses the latest technology as a vital ingredient in its success. From the scanning systems carried by drivers to online ordering and tracking designed to keep customers up-to-date and to integrate with company ordering systems, APC Overnight is committed to continual IT investment and upgrade.

The new proof of delivery system managed by Peak-Ryzex is part of APC Overnight's strategic direction for continued growth. It will help with the delivery of high service levels for APC Overnight customers.

"With our network founded upon high quality overnight delivery services for a variety of private customers and businesses nationwide, it is imperative that we are able to maintain exceptionally high standards. Our new proof of delivery system will enhance the communication we have with our customers and ensure we are able to build on our customer service levels, which is already something we take a great deal of pride in." says Mark Clemence, Head of Information Technology.

"APC Overnight is a unique network wholly owned by its members who pride themselves on providing industry-leading service level to their customers across 115 local independent depots. Therefore, we knew that we would need to offer exceptional managed services to ensure smooth deployment and optimum reliability of their new POD system," says Damian Penney, MD Europe, Peak-Ryzex.
