Palletforce member Wings Transport receives prestigious accolade

Palletforce member Wings Transport has been recognised by Transport for London for working to high standards.

The Croydon-based firm has received the bronze Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) certification from TfL.

FORS is a certification scheme which recognises those who work lawfully and to best practice by meeting standards set by the scheme.

"There are very few London hauliers who have received this certificate, so we are just one of a handful," said John Bayliss, Managing Director of Wings Transport.

"More and more delivery depots in London will not allow hauliers on their site unless they are FORS accredited and we are now gaining business from clients because they know there will be no problems.

"This accreditation gives us an extra level of credibility as well as added reassurance for our customers that we are doing everything right."

Wings Transport is a family-run firm and member of Palletforce, the UK and Europe's leading palletised distribution network.

It operates from the Silverwing Industrial Estate in Croydon and recently opened another warehouse on the site bringing its warehousing space to 13,000 sq ft.

"Palletforce prides itself on setting the quality standards for the sector and is always delighted when one of our members is rewarded for working to these high standards," said Michael Conroy, Chief Executive of Palletforce.

"This accreditation is another string to the bow of Wings Transport which is already highly regarded throughout the industry."
