Reduced operating costs and increased driver comfort are just two of the reasons that Toyota Industrial Equipment has become the preferred materials handling supplier to APC Overnight Ltd.
Strong after sales support and competitive pricing were other factors demonstrated by regional dealer West Midlands based Toyota Handling, and led to APC Overnight selecting Toyota for the future supply of forklifts to its 120 depots across the UK.
The company was impressed by the extra comfort that Toyota forklifts offer the driver, along with fingertip controlled levers which greatly reduce driver fatigue and stress levels. An auto levelling button prevents the forks from touching the ground whilst in operation. This eliminates dragging which wears away the heel of the fork therefore reducing operating costs.
Toyota's revolutionary SAS (System of Active Stability) provides numerous state of the art safety and productivity features that ensure improved manoeuvring capability and increased levels of safety.
The nationwide parcels carrier undertook detailed research of the market and invited four major suppliers to tender. After extensive testing of all the products, Toyota was chosen, enabling each depot to specify the most suitable models from Toyota's extensive range of gas and electric vehicles. Depots will also be able to select the method of ownership choosing either outright purchase, lease purchase or contract hire.
Mike Dewick, General Manager of APC Overnight Ltd said: "As a respected worldwide organisation, Toyota has built a reputation for the quality of its products and this culture is extended to its forklift range. We were impressed by the support and advice on offer from Toyota's network of regional dealers.
"We will be advising all our depots to select Toyota forklift trucks and we look forward to a long and mutually commercially successful partnership with Toyota for many years to come."

APC Overnight Ltd was established in 1994, specifically as a network of parcel carriers; moving small parcels to both UK and worldwide destinations. Since then, APC has achieved substantial growth in each subsequent year, three times outgrowing premises. In July 2003 APC moved to its current facility - a purpose built hub in Essington in the West Midlands.
