Organic recycling company Greenview Environmental appoints four new waste management specialists

Greenview Environmental, one of the UK's leading independent organic recycling companies, has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of four highly experienced waste management sector specialists.

Nigel Steward joins as Operations Director, following 18 years working for Viridor Waste Management, latterly as General Operations Manager overseeing landfills, transfer stations and composting facilities in and around Suffolk and Essex. Nigel's role will be to ensure that the most rigorous and effective quality management systems are implemented across all company sites.

Stephen Hall joins as Projects Director, a key role in which he will oversee the design and build of all Greenview composting plants. Previously Chief Operations Officer at Poundfield Products, Stephen has a wealth of project management experience, including 20 years at Lignacite, most recently as Commercial Director.

Client Delivery Manager Peter Marshall has over 14 years experience working within large waste management companies. Prior to this appointment, Peter was Regional Customer Services Manager with the Veolia Environmental Group where his remit was to deliver and maintain the highest standards of service to customers within the hazardous waste sector.

Daniel Sage has moved from St Edmundsbury Borough Council, where he worked for seven years, most recently as Strategy and Policy Manager including two years on the LARAC Executive. With extensive experience in organic waste collection and disposal, Daniel has an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing local authorities as they strive to meet their recycling targets.

John Jardine, CEO and founder of Greenview, said, "This is a great time to be joining the organics sector, particularly as the EU Landfill Directive starts to make an impact. Our business is going from strength to strength and we are delighted to have attracted people that bring so much additional knowledge and experience to our team."

Peter Marshall added, "Greenview is a forward-thinking company with simple but effective processes that are extremely highly regarded within the industry. The team works with an integrity and passion that I and my new colleagues are proud to be a part of."

Greenview has almost 25 years experience in the organic recycling sector and currently treats over a quarter of a million tonnes per year. The company has developed a unique range of processes that offer local authorities and waste management partners a proven, low-cost solution for organic waste treatment.

In recent months Greenview has opened its flagship organic recycling plant at Corby, Northants with capacity to process 40,000 tonnes per annum. This was followed by the opening of a 48,000 tonne capacity site at Tempsford, Bedfordshire. These sites are fully compliant to Category 3 Animal By-Products Regulations using an in-vessel aeration system. The company is scheduled to open a further four organic recycling sites across the UK in 2010.
