Over 130 exhibitors will showcase their latest products and services for the container transport and logistics industry at Intermodal Europe 2014, alongside a full conference programme, from 11-13 November at the Rotterdam Ahoy.
âIntermodal Europe is chosen by many companies as a platform to launch new products to the industry as well as to reconnect with customers, prospects and industry peers, all under one roofâ says Sophie Ahmed, Event Director.
Carrier Transicold has exhibited at Intermodal Europe for many years.
âIntermodal Europe continues to be a good venue to meet with our customers and a fitting opportunity to celebrate Carrierâs many accomplishments, including our new modified atmosphere system that uniquely controls oxygen and carbon dioxide levels and removes ethyleneâ says Edward Goh, director of marketing, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold.
Rotterdam-based container designer and manufacturer, UNIT45, will demonstrate its new 45ft combined diesel-electric refrigerated container, designed to move temperature-controlled products over long distances by rail, water and/or road. âOur diesel-electric refrigerated container gives shippers the flexibility to use intermodal operations, safe in the knowledge that their goods will arrive at their destination in the required conditionâ says Jan Koolen, Managing Director.
Having recently joined the United Nationsâ SAVE FOOD Initiative to help make international food logistics more efficient, container manufacturer, Maersk Container industry AS, will exhibit at the event; as well as manufacturer of temperature control systems for mobile applications, Thermo King.
Further exhibitors recently added to the Intermodal Europe list include the Container Owners Association (COA), Seamark Reefer Service B.V., Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH & Co, Fraunhofer-Center fĂŒr Maritime Logistik und Dienstleistungen CML, iInterchange Systems Private Limited, Textainer, Seaco, CARU, CPI Group, Dong Fang International Asset Management (Germany GmbH), AM-Solution, DAIKIN and many more.

Simon Bosschieter, co-founder and Managing Director of HCI will also present a conference session as part of the container forum on day 2, which will be chaired by Michael Callus, General Manager of the Container Owners Association (COA).
âIntermodal Europe is an important event because it is the only event that brings together all leasing companies and reefer machinery producers under one roofâ says Michael Callus. âThere is a lot of attendance from the USA, although we have seen a big increase of interest from the Far East, coming from the new container manufacturers and suppliers of containers.â
Over 30 conference sessions will take place during the three day event.
âThe free conference sessions are valuable as an opportunity for delegates to not only learn about developments in the industry, but also to voice concerns about current issues and get some answers,â adds Sophie Ahmed.
A workshop addressing âIntelligent Logistics through Partnering in the Supply Chainâ will be chaired by European freight forwarders association, CLECAT, and the European Shippers Council (ESC) on Day 2.
âThere is a lot of innovation in this industry, which will be discussed, such as the development of intelligent cargo to improve efficiency and sustainability and the management of complex supply chains through intelligent IT systems,â explains Nicolette van der Jagt, Director General of CLECAT. âWe are also chairing these sessions in cooperation with iCARGO, a project that aims to advance the use of ICT (information and Communications Technology) in support of new logistics services.â
Intermodal Europe is a three day free-to-attend exhibition and conference for logistics professionals. Rotterdam is home to Europeâs largest container port and an ideal location to hold Intermodal Europe, which is widely considered one of the most important events in the container shipping calendar.
