Mark Meehan, National OE Account Manager of CMP Batteries has been appointed as Chairman of the British Industrial Truck Association's Component Suppliers Group (CSG) for a period of two years. Mark should slip quite easily into the role after already completing two years as Vice-Chairman of the CSG. Mark takes over the role of Chairman from Derek Rice.
The role will involve chairing the 2 CSG meetings per annum and representing the Group at the main BITA Board meetings, of which there are a further 4 meetings per annum. The CSG comprises over 40 UK companies involved in supplying forklift truck manufacturers throughout the UK and overseas.
In addition to his CSG duties, Mark has also been appointed to the board of Consolidated Fork Truck Services (CFTS), which involves the promotion of the National Thorough Examination procedure, the rigorous forklift truck safety examination system.
Commenting on his appointment, Mark said, "I am delighted to be chairing the CSG because it represents the interests of the major suppliers in the materials handling industry. Furthermore the opportunity to promote safe working practice and high standards of service through CFTS adds an extra dimension to the role."
