Recycling professionals are invited to join fellow sustainability trailblazers at The Zero Waste Recognition Lunch which celebrates the fantastic work that organisations from the public, private and third sector are doing to drive down waste from landfill.
Held at 12th Century Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire on Thursday 9 April 2015, winners are each presented with a trophy. The event is an opportunity for recycling leaders, whether entrants or non-entrants, to network and share best practice, and is a highlight of the waste and resources calendar.
Guests will enjoy a sparkling drinks reception, followed by a sumptuous three course lunch whilst networking with a wide range of organisations working towards the same goal. A keynote address will be given by Sue Armstrong-Brown, Head of Policy at the think tank, Green Alliance.
The Zero Waste Awards are organised by Environment Media Group, the company behind letsrecycle.com. Recognising that sustainability is a team effort, not a contest, the Zero Waste Awards aren’t competitive and entrants are judged purely on their merits. Winners are awarded with gold, silver, bronze or highly commended for their efforts.
Open to public, private and third sector organisations, the annual Zero Waste Awards recognise all types of initiative that prevent waste at source. From supply chain collaborations to innovative processes and business models, leaders are invited to receive recognition amongst their peers.
Previous winners have included KP Snacks, New York Bakery, FareShare and Portakabin, with hundreds more recognised for their work towards the Zero Waste goal.
Steve Eminton, editor of letsrecycle.com, said: “Achieving the ultimate goal of a zero waste society will take collaboration, innovation and sheer hard work, and will result in significant benefits to communities, the economy and the environment. The Zero Waste Awards celebrate the impact of sustainable business models and show others what can be achieved.”
The awards are sponsored by Saica Natur and Wastecare, with Ceris Burns International as the PR partnership sponsor.
