Navman Wireless UK is celebrating having been named 'Business of the Year' and the company's founder, Tony Neill, 'Young Businessperson of the Year' at the 2010 Sentinel Business Awards.
The awards' judges recognised both Tony's, and the company's, remarkable success in initiating technological innovation, dynamic growth and cost saving strategies in the face of the worldwide economic crisis.
The UK's largest provider of vehicle tracking has cemented its position at the fore of an intensely competitive industry - recently announcing an increase in net profits of 90 per cent, from £2.16m to £4.11m.
"The people within the business are everything and they have been the driving force behind its success; I can't thank them enough," said Tony, Navman Wireless's Executive Vice President.
"It's lovely to be recognised personally, but this is all about the team."
Tony, 38, set up Navman Wireless in 2001 having recognised the potential for the vehicle tracking industry. Today it tracks more than 110,000 vehicles worldwide.
The company's system enables business users to track, message and monitor their fleet from almost any PC at any location, providing vital information about companies' workforces and mobile assets.
The HSBC Commercial Banking sponsored Business of the Year Award, and the Beswicks Solicitors sponsored Young Businessperson of the Year Award, were presented during a gala dinner at the Best Western Stoke-on-Trent Moat House on Tuesday March 23.
The awards programme was presented in association with North Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the presentation dinner was sponsored by Advantage West Midlands.
