It has been strictly under wraps for the last two weeks but UNTHA UK can now announce that the company has been shortlisted in the National Recycling Awards 2015.
Months of behind-the-scenes effort went in to preparing the teamās entry for the Innovation of the Year ā Equipment category. Graphs, statistics, trial findings, testimonials, particle sizes and efficiency readings were among the figured collated for the submission on the ground-breaking XR waste shredder. And there have been weeks of baited breath before UNTHA UK learned its fate.
However, news officially revealed by the awards team last week, confirms the company has āreached the finalsā. The winners will be announced at the ceremony at London Hilton, Park Lane, on 1 July. But thereās more work to do before then. Sales director Marcus Brew and managing director Chris Oldfield have another trip to London ahead of them on 10 April, when they must present the award entry in more detail, to a panel of judges. Only then will the NRA team have the information they need to make their decision.
Commenting on the NRA announcement, Chris Oldfield said: āWe are told that the awards received an even greater number of entries this year, so to have been shortlisted is already a significant achievement for our team.
āAfter four years of pioneering R&D, design, engineering and testing, we have created a robust machine that we are incredibly proud of. And already it is reaping some fantastic results for clients, which is what we set out to achieve. Award recognition such as this, however, would be the icing on the cake.ā
A 10-strong UNTHA team will make the July trip to the capital for a celebratory evening with some of the UKās most esteemed waste and recycling experts, forward-thinking local authorities, resource efficiency champions and some of the most respected journalists in the field.
