Moffett Automation begins work on €4m Centre of Excellence in Monaghan

The €4m development will support research, innovation and the demonstration of advanced warehouse automation technology

A €4 million investment in warehouse automation is taking shape in County Monaghan, with Moffett Automation beginning construction of a new Centre of Excellence at its headquarters.

The company has started groundwork at its Clontibret site, marking the first phase of a project designed to strengthen research and development and showcase its automated warehousing technology.

The new facility will provide a dedicated space for developing, testing and demonstrating how software and engineered automation can work together to improve warehouse operations.

Moffett Automation said the investment would support its work in integrating intelligent software with automated equipment, reflecting the growing importance of technology in modern warehousing and logistics.

The Centre of Excellence will also allow the company to demonstrate its systems in a practical environment, providing clients and industry partners with a clearer understanding of how its technology operates.

Founder and managing director Sam Moffett described the start of construction as a significant development for the business.

"Starting work on our new Centre of Excellence is an important step for Moffett Automation and our team in Monaghan," he said.

"Warehouse automation depends on software and engineering working together in practice. Our ambition for this facility is to support research and development and demonstrate that integration, informed by the challenges our clients and partners face every day."

Based in Clontibret, Moffett Automation designs and delivers integrated automated warehousing systems, bringing together in-house software, engineering, project delivery and ongoing technical support.

Its systems are developed around the operational requirements of individual warehouses, with software intelligence and automated equipment designed to function as part of an integrated operation.

The company delivers projects directly and through a global network of integration partners, providing technology and support for warehouse automation projects.

The new Centre of Excellence is intended to build on these capabilities by providing a dedicated environment for research, development and demonstrations at the company's existing headquarters.
