Pressure-washing equipment supplier Alan Bryan is showing a clean pair of heels to the competition - in a new Mercedes-Benz Citan.
Mr Bryan, who runs Manchester-based industrial cleaning machine agent AMB Services, won six months' free use of the van free after entering a prize draw run by local Mercedes-Benz dealer Enza.
The all-new Citan range marks the entry of Mercedes-Benz into the small van market. Packed with clever features, it is powered by a fuel-efficient diesel engine which is offered with 75 hp, 90 hp and 110 hp power outputs, or a 114 hp petrol unit.
Panel van versions are available in three lengths - Compact, Long and Extra-long. The Citan Traveliner is based on the Long wheelbase and has a folding rear bench seat, allowing it to carry the driver and up to four passengers. The Citan Dualiner, meanwhile, has the same seating configuration but, because it is based on the Extra-long format, also offers a practical cargo space.
Mr Bryan, who also runs a larger Mercedes-Benz Vito and a car-derived van by another manufacturer, said he was surprised and delighted to have won top prize in the competition, staged during Enza's launch of the new model.
"The Citan looks like an excellent vehicle and very well suited to smaller deliveries at locations where access can be very tight," he says.
"I'm really looking forward to putting it to work and seeing how well it performs. My first impressions are certainly positive - I was particularly impressed by how smooth and quiet it was on the drive home after collecting it."
He continues: "Our Vito is an extremely reliable and well designed vehicle and I'm pleased that I can now source a smaller van from Enza too, as the service I've received from the dealership team has always been highly professional. The fact that Enza offers out-of-hours servicing means my vehicles are always available for work when I need them, while its 24-hour emergency breakdown cover gives me great peace of mind."
AMB Services sells, services and hires industrial pressure washers from a variety of leading manufacturers, and uses its vans to collect machines from importers and deliver them to customers' premises within a 50-mile radius of its own base in Irlam, Greater Manchester.
